So….the Eraserheads Reunion concert is finally set for August 30 at the Fort.
Tickets can be bought via Ticketworld…. through their outlet stations and their website…
A warning though – buying tickets online is a pain in the $^&%$#!!!!
I was trying to buy tickets for four people. Their website offers an algorithm for selecting “the best seats available”. Clicking that said button, came up with this choice:
Evidence #1:
(Best Seats = 539, 541, 546, 552. Oh sure! I’m ordering 4 tickets so we can all seat apart!)
Then I thought, this may be a mix-up or something. Why don’t I try again …
…. and so I did …and their beautiful system came up with this:
Evidence #2
(Best seats = 484, 503, 511,512)
I was grumbling a bit at this point, but then I realized that there is a slight chance that there are no consecutive seats available for four people. (Then again, their system could just be plain dumb.)
To test this theory, I decided to search for 2 seats.
The result:
Evidence #3
(Best Seats = 539, 541)
Oh Well! It’s settled. The system is dumb. If the system was slightly smarter, it would have realized from the previous search that 511 and 512 are still available. The system, however, seems to be designed to keep people as far away from each other as possible.
Ticketworld people, please do something about this. Test your system. Check your algorithm or whatever. Hire a QA (hire me hehehehe). Your system is a social-life killer.
The concert is standing room only and seating numbers don’t matter. They only used the same system as the previous concert as they probably didn’t have enough time to setup one specifically for this event as it was last minute.
Look! there is a big FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED note on your screen shot. Evidence that the control no. doesn’t matter! And take note, if you did not cancel your previous selection you will not get it on your second attemp, that’s why the system is giving you the 539, 541.
